Firefighters responded to a report of a potential hazardous materials incident at Haifa Port on Tuesday, identifying a minor leak from an "ISO tank" belonging to the "Deshenim" company. Environmental monitoring conducted at the scene detected only low, localized readings in the immediate vicinity of the tank.
Firefighters sealed the leaking tank by placing it in containment and, with assistance from company personnel, later moved it via crane to the eastern quay for further inspection and treatment. The Haifa fire department stated that there was no concern of a significant hazardous materials event and that the situation was fully under control.
