National Security Minister Ben-Gvir Confronts Palestinian Prisoner, Vows to Push for Executions and Expulsion

Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir revealed on social media that he met with Palestinian security prisoner Hassan Salameh in prison approximately two weeks ago. Ben-Gvir described the encounter as "closing a circle" for himself, recalling his participation in protests following bus bombings in Jerusalem during his youth. He directly accused Salameh of organizing those attacks, telling the prisoner that the "boy who demonstrated in the streets then is today the National Security Minister."

Ben-Gvir claimed Salameh appeared fearful during their meeting. The minister also discussed his policies regarding Palestinian prisoners, stating that as National Security Minister, he has worked to tighten their detention conditions. He further vowed that if he were to become Minister of Defense, he would push for the implementation of the death penalty for individuals convicted of carrying out attacks.

Additionally, Ben-Gvir reiterated his support for a policy of "migration" from the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, using his own phrasing. He stated his intention to advance this policy, which implies the expulsion of Palestinians from these territories.
