Ten-Year-Old Critically Injured in Electric Scooter Crash in Ashdod

A 10-year-old boy sustained critical injuries on Sunday after falling while riding an electric scooter on Jerusalem Boulevard in Ashdod. Emergency medical services (Magen David Adom, MDA) arrived at the scene, provided initial treatment, and transported the child to Assuta Hospital in the city via a mobile intensive care unit. The boy was conscious but confused, suffering from head and limb injuries.

"The child was lying on the sidewalk, conscious but confused, suffering severe injuries to his body after falling while riding an electric scooter," said MDA paramedic Simcha Chassid. "We provided treatment and evacuated him via mobile intensive care unit to the hospital in serious condition."

This incident follows two other serious road accidents in Israel over the weekend. On Saturday, a cyclist, approximately 40 years old, was killed on Road 98 in the southern Golan Heights, near the Ramat Magshimim junction, after being hit by a private vehicle. MDA teams found the cyclist without a pulse or breathing and pronounced him dead at the scene. The driver of the private car sustained minor injuries, and police have opened an investigation.

The day before, a man in his 60s died in a four-vehicle collision on Road 90 in the Jordan Valley. MDA teams near the Shlomtzion regional center pronounced the man dead at the scene. Two men, aged approximately 60 and 40, were evacuated by helicopter with serious injuries, and a man in his 30s sustained moderate injuries. Two additional individuals with minor injuries were taken to the hospital by ambulance.
