Rabbi Moshe Hillel Hirsch, a leading figure in the Haredi (ultra-Orthodox) world, has instructed a housing committee to develop a comprehensive work plan to address the growing housing crisis affecting young Haredi families and "avreichim" (married students of Torah). The directive came during an emergency meeting held at Rabbi Hirsch's home, which focused on practical solutions to the "Haredi housing distress."

Rabbi Hirsch emphasized that the committee should not merely handle individual cases but create a clear plan that maps community needs, identifies key obstacles, and proposes viable housing solutions. The committee is expected to explore options for establishing new residential areas, developing communities, advancing planning solutions, and reducing housing costs, while also finding suitable housing for "avreichim" and young families.

The discussion was prompted by the current reality of high housing prices and increasing barriers for young families. Changes in government housing programs' accessibility for "avreichim" in recent years have further highlighted the need for alternative approaches and broader solutions.

The Housing Committee for Communities, established under the guidance of prominent rabbis including Rabbi Moshe Hillel Hirsch and Rabbi Dov Cohen, aims to examine new housing possibilities for families and communities, considering communal character, educational institutions, synagogues, and the needs of Torah scholars.
