Rami Kleinstein Remembers Yishai Levi Ahead of Tribute Concert

Israeli singer Rami Kleinstein shared heartfelt memories of the late Yishai Levi on Saturday, ahead of a tribute concert for the beloved Mizrahi music artist. Levi passed away approximately four months ago, leaving a significant void in the Israeli music scene.

Kleinstein recalled a special performance he shared with Levi, singing "Od Lo Tumu Kol P'laiych" (Your Wonders Are Not Yet Over) during Israel's 70th-anniversary celebrations. He emphasized Levi's unique and powerful delivery, noting that "like everything Yishai sang, the uniqueness of his delivery broke through here."

Kleinstein further described Levi as an artist from a generation where "singing wasn't just accessible, it came with intention, and drama wasn't a word to be ashamed of." He added, "Always touching, always speaking. A great vacuum was created when he left."

Kleinstein concluded by stating he was honored to perform one of Levi's beautiful songs at the upcoming memorial concert, bidding him farewell with "May his memory be blessed."

Yishai Levi, one of Israel's most prominent and beloved Mizrahi singers, rose to fame in the 1980s with numerous hits that remain popular today. He passed away in June 2026 at the age of 63, following a decline in his health.
