Shir Levi appeared on stage for the first time since the death of his father, singer Yishai Levi, on Thursday night and sang the hit "Isha Ne'emana" with Omer Cohen before tens of thousands of people at Ramat Gan Stadium.
Before the performance, Cohen paid tribute from the stage, saying that less than two weeks earlier Israel's music scene had lost "one of the greatest singers we had," and called Yishai Levi "one of the most special and important singers." He added that he himself grew up on Levi's music, even while playing with his father, and said, "I think the whole country is grieving his passing." Cohen also urged the audience to both honor Levi's legacy and enjoy what he left behind, then asked for applause for Shir Levi.
The two singers performed Yishai Levi's well-known song together, moving the large crowd in attendance. Yishai Levi died two weeks ago, shocking Israel's music world and prompting widespread mourning for one of the country's most distinctive voices.
