Two weeks after the death of beloved Israeli singer Ishay Levy, his son Schar Levy appeared on stage for the first time since the loss and performed with Osher Cohen in front of tens of thousands at Ramat Gan Stadium. The pair sang Levy’s signature hit, "Aisha Ne'emanah," in a moment that drew an especially warm response from the crowd.
Before bringing Schar Levy on stage, Cohen paused the concert to speak about Levy’s legacy. "Less than two weeks ago we said goodbye to one of the greatest singers we had in Israeli music culture, Ishay Levy," he told the audience. "Ishay was one of the most special and important singers, and I personally grew up on him, even when I was playing with my father. I think the whole country is mourning his passing."
Cohen added that beyond the grief, Levy’s artistic legacy should be remembered and appreciated. "At the same time we also need to give thanks and enjoy the legacy he left us here. Give Schar Levy a huge round of applause," he said before inviting him to the stage.
The duet of "Aisha Ne'emanah," one of Ishay Levy’s best-known songs, was met with prolonged applause. Videos of the emotional performance spread on social media and drew many reactions from Israeli music fans. Levy’s death two weeks earlier left a major void in Israeli music, where he had spent decades as one of the most prominent and loved figures in Mizrahi music and left behind many hits that became part of the country’s cultural soundtrack.
