Shir Levi Performs First Concert Honoring Late Father, Mizrahi Music Icon Yishai Levi

Nearly two months after the passing of his father, renowned Mizrahi singer Yishai Levi, Shir Levi held his first concert on Tuesday night at Reading 3 in Tel Aviv. During the performance, Shir dedicated several songs to his late father, expressing deep emotion and gratitude to the audience and supporters. "Tonight I am more moved than ever, this is my first performance since my dear father passed away," Shir said to applause. "We are honoring him for the man he was and his music. Thank you to everyone who supported me with thousands of messages and calls."

Shir Levi performed his own songs alongside some of Yishai Levi's greatest hits, including "Rikdi," "Achat Veyechida," "Taltalim Shchorim," "Rikud Romanti," and "Ananim," with the crowd joining in singing. Yishai Levi died in early June at age 63 and was widely regarded as one of the most iconic voices in Israeli Mizrahi music. He rose to fame in the 1980s, breaking ground for Mizrahi music on Israeli radio with his 1984 debut album "Hafla Im Ben-Mosh." His subsequent hits like "Hineh Ba Hayom," "Ra'aya," "Chalom," "Achat Veyechida," and "Yaldonut" cemented his legacy as a leading figure of his generation.
