A new, enormous ancient cistern, estimated to be approximately five meters deep and covering an area of ten by twenty meters, has been discovered in the Yatir region of the southern Hebron Hills. Access to the cistern is via a fixed iron ladder through an opening in the southeastern corner. The site offers an open view to the west, towards Beit Shemesh.
