Boaz Sharabi Opens Up About Loneliness and Alcohol Use Ahead of 80th Birthday Show

Legendary Israeli singer Boaz Sharabi is preparing for a celebratory concert at the Tel Aviv Opera House with the Israel Chamber Orchestra to mark his 80th birthday. Despite reaching this milestone, Sharabi expressed optimism about the future, sharing his aspiration to live to 90. He highlighted personal goals, including attending his son Adi's wedding and seeing a grandchild.

Sharabi also reflected on the current Israeli reality and its impact on his music. He spoke emotionally about performing his song "Kshe'tavo" for the families of hostages at military headquarters and recalled how the late Uzi Hitman adapted the lyrics of "Mi Yeda She'kakh Yihiye" to include a message of hope.

However, alongside these poignant moments, Sharabi candidly discussed personal struggles. He admitted that loneliness is his primary adversary, revealing that he uses alcohol to cope with stress and the quiet. "I enjoy alcohol, I need those few drinks. But that doesn't mean I wake up in the morning and drink from a bottle," he clarified, emphasizing that his use is not constant.
