Man Charged in Plot to Sell Stolen IDF Rifles

A 27-year-old man from Netanya has been indicted for his alleged role in the theft and attempted sale of three M4 rifles stolen from a naval base in Atlit. According to the indictment, after a soldier removed the weapons from the base, he met the suspect early Sunday morning at a convenience store in Netanya.

The suspect reportedly took one of the rifles from the soldier's car and fled. The soldier pursued him, and during the chase, the suspect discarded the rifle in a trash can. After retrieving the weapon, the soldier apologized and promised to find a buyer for the firearms.

Subsequently, the suspect allegedly acted as an intermediary between the soldier and another individual. The three men then met at a promenade in Netanya. There, in the suspect's presence, one rifle, wrapped in a blanket, was transferred to a Mercedes, while the other two rifles and four additional magazines were placed in a duffel bag and put into a vehicle.

The indictment details the suspect's involvement in facilitating the transaction of the stolen military-grade weapons.
