Shin Bet Chief Warns Eilat Could Be Vulnerable to a October 7-Style Attack
Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar has warned in closed discussions about a possible attack scenario against Eilat and ordered senior officials in the agency to make the city a top priority. He views Eilat as a security weak point because of its isolated geographic location.
According to the report, Bar cautioned specifically about a ground incursion from the city’s land borders, especially the Jordan border, and also from its sea borders. Sources said he is directing intelligence units to focus on this scenario.
At the same time, security officials expressed doubts about how much weight Bar is giving the threat and whether there is any concrete intelligence indicating that such an attack is actually being planned.
