Opposition Leaders Agree to Coordinate Ahead of Elections

Leaders of Israel's "Change Camp" opposition bloc met in Tel Aviv on Tuesday evening to coordinate their efforts ahead of the upcoming elections. The meeting, hosted at the home of Yair Lapid, included Gadi Eisenkot, Naftali Bennett, Avigdor Lieberman, and Yair Golan.

A joint statement released after the gathering outlined key agreements, including a commitment by the party leaders not to launch political attacks against each other until a new government is formed. This aims to regulate inter-party relations during the pre-election period.

The leaders also pledged to work together after the elections to form what they described as a "government of reform and reconstruction." This commitment signifies a coordinated approach to the political phase following the election results.

To facilitate this cooperation, three joint task forces will be established. The first will focus on increasing voter turnout and election preparedness. The second will draft the broad outlines and principles for a future government. The third will create a shared media apparatus to coordinate public messaging.

These task forces represent a shift from political meetings to concrete operational mechanisms covering electoral, media, and programmatic issues. The gathering reflects ongoing efforts by opposition parties to consolidate their movements amid various power centers within the bloc, making cooperation a central theme in recent discussions.
