Opposition Leaders Pledge No Internal Attacks Until Election
Five Israeli opposition party leaders met Saturday evening at the home of Yair Lapid in Tel Aviv, signing a joint principles document. The agreement stipulates that from now until a new government is formed, none of the signatories or their representatives will attack a fellow party within the bloc or its leader. The leaders who signed the document were Gadi Eisenkot of 'Yashar', Naftali Bennett of 'Yachad', Avigdor Lieberman of 'Yisrael Beiteinu', Yair Golan of 'HaDemocratim', and Yair Lapid of 'Yesh Atid', whose party is integrated into the 'Yachad' list.
They also announced the formation of three joint working groups within 48 hours. The first group will focus on increasing voter turnout for the bloc, election day preparations, and ensuring election integrity. The second group will work on formulating the foundational principles for the next government. The third group will serve as a spokesperson unit, tasked with advancing shared goals and combating fake news and smear campaigns.
