His strategic reasoning is to prevent Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu from focusing his election campaign on a one-on-one showdown with a sole opposition leader.

Democratic Party chairman Yair Golan commented on the upcoming meeting, stating its primary goal is to achieve mutual coordination between the various opposition parties' campaigns. Golan also noted that in Israeli politics, "the largest party does not always end up forming the government."
