Two Arrested After Emerging From Sewer Near Netanyahu's New York Hotel

New York City police have arrested two individuals who emerged from a sewer near the hotel where Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was staying during the UN General Assembly. The two men, identified as 26-year-old Kevin Rodriguez and 25-year-old Samuel Rebron, were spotted by authorities on Wednesday evening exiting the city's sewer system. A third associate accompanying them remains at large, and police are actively searching for him.

Rodriguez and Rebron were charged with trespassing and unlawful entry, offenses related to unauthorized access to New York's sewer system. They appeared before a judge on Friday morning, pleaded not guilty to the charges, and were subsequently released from custody.

Authorities are investigating the motive behind the incident, particularly why the individuals emerged from the sewer specifically near Netanyahu's hotel. Law enforcement noted similarities between this incident and previous cases in New York involving individuals entering sewer tunnels, such as one in August with people in protective gear and another in May where a group was seen entering a Brooklyn sewer.
