Netanyahu Denounces New York Mayor's Arrest Threat, Accuses Him of Supporting Terrorism
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded sharply to threats by New York City Mayor Eric Adams to arrest him if he visits the city during the upcoming UN General Assembly in September. In a recent interview with conservative radio host Sid Rosenberg on WABC, Netanyahu dismissed concerns about the arrest threat, stating, "No, I am not worried."
Netanyahu criticized Adams for his stance against Israel and accused him of supporting terrorist organizations. He highlighted Adams' condemnation of Israel, which Netanyahu described as the only democracy standing shoulder to shoulder with American values and fighting alongside the brave American soldiers. Netanyahu specifically accused Adams of backing Hamas, labeling it as a murderous terrorist group that openly calls for the massacre of all Jews worldwide and committed the worst Jewish massacre since the Holocaust.
Further, Netanyahu accused Adams of excusing Iran, which he called the world's leading terrorist regime responsible for calls to harm former President Trump and other American officials. Netanyahu concluded that Adams stands with terrorist forces and either does not understand or does not care that those who hate Jews and Israel ultimately hate America as well. He asserted, "I think deep down, he hates America."
Despite the heightened tensions and severe events since October 7, Netanyahu emphasized that Israel has experienced "the greatest comeback in history" compared to its lowest point at the start of the war.
