TV Host Assi Azar Shares Vulnerability in New Mental Health Initiative
Israeli television presenter Assi Azar has revealed a vulnerable side in a new video, discussing the anxiety and stress he experiences when sharing his personal life online. Azar, who has previously spoken openly about his struggles with anxiety and even created a documentary on the subject, recently launched a dedicated Instagram page for mental health.
He celebrated a significant milestone for the page, which now has 10,000 followers, expressing his joy despite the personal effort involved. "I hate, hate opening a camera and talking, it gives me anxiety and stress, but here I am doing it," Azar stated candidly in the video. He emphasized the importance of the community he has built, noting that "there are ten thousand people there who felt they needed help, or they don't want to feel alone with what they are dealing with."
Azar clarified that he is not a therapist or psychologist but highlighted the power of shared experience and knowing others are in similar situations. He recalled feeling isolated when he was "in the closet with my anxiety," lacking answers to his questions. He admitted that sharing personal aspects on the new page is difficult and sometimes embarrassing, but he believes it is important.
This personal sharing comes alongside Azar's professional endeavors. Following the success of his show "Lehiyot Ita" (To Be With Her), he is returning to screenwriting with a new television project tentatively titled "The Happiest Day of Her Life." The series is expected to air on Channel 12 and promises a blend of drama, humor, and romantic twists.
