Assi Azar Opens Up About Anxiety Attack While Writing New Series
Israeli television host and creator Assi Azar has revealed he experienced a prolonged anxiety attack while working on his new series in Barcelona. Azar, known for the successful show " быть איתה" (To Be With Her), traveled to Barcelona to attend a wedding and decided to extend his stay to focus on writing the penultimate chapter of his new project, aiming to escape distractions.
However, upon sitting down to write, Azar encountered a severe creative block, which triggered a sudden and intense anxiety attack. He described experiencing physical symptoms like heart palpitations and intrusive thoughts, questioning his location and ability to work. "Slowly, the anxiety overwhelmed me," he shared, detailing the physical and mental distress.
Azar recounted how he recognized the escalating anxiety and decided to step away from his computer. He took a walk, ate a meal, and the following morning, opted for a workout to disconnect from the pressure. He explained that only when he felt physically calmer, able to breathe more easily, did he attempt to write again.
He also sought support through a consultation with a friend familiar with the series. Azar emphasized the importance of recognizing and addressing anxiety before it intensifies, advising others experiencing similar feelings to resist the instinct to withdraw and instead, to pause and "break right."
Ultimately, Azar's deliberate break and coping strategy proved effective. He concluded his post optimistically, stating he believed he had overcome the writing challenge and was successfully working on the episode.
