Ora 5 SUV Arrives in Israel With Hybrid Power and Competitive Pricing
Colmobil has begun selling the Ora 5, the first SUV from the Chinese Ora brand in Israel, with prices starting at 140,000 shekels. Ora, a brand under Great Wall Motors, has been sold in Israel since early 2023, first with the Ora 3 hatchback, then with the Ora 7 sedan, which is no longer marketed there.
The Ora 5 is a C-segment crossover measuring 4.47 meters long, 1.83 meters wide and 1.64 meters high, with a 2.72-meter wheelbase, 17.5 cm of ground clearance, a 390-liter trunk and towing capacity of 675 kg, including a braked trailer. The article notes that compared with the Toyota Corolla Cross, which starts at 180,000 shekels, the Ora 5 is slightly larger in most dimensions, but has a smaller cargo area and lower towing capacity.
It comes with one powertrain only, a full-hybrid setup combining a 1.5-liter turbo gasoline engine and an electric motor for a combined 223 hp and 48.5 kgm of torque. Power goes to the front wheels through a reduction gearbox, and the SUV reaches 100 km/h in 8.7 seconds. Claimed fuel economy is 19.6 km per liter.
Two trim levels are offered. The base Vibe includes a 10.25-inch digital cluster, a 14.6-inch infotainment screen, wireless smartphone connectivity, Waze display in the instrument panel, heated front seats, an electrically adjusted driver’s seat, rear air vents, light and rain sensors, surround-view cameras and 18-inch wheels. Safety equipment includes seven airbags, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot intervention, intersection crossing alerts with braking, rear cross-traffic alert with braking, emergency braking for parking maneuvers, driver monitoring, automatic high beam and rear-seat child-reminder alerts.
The higher Signature trim adds synthetic leather upholstery, an electrically adjustable passenger seat, front seat ventilation, a heated steering wheel, wireless phone charging, anti-glare rearview mirror, panoramic roof with shade, electric tailgate, tinted rear windows, folding side mirrors and a nine-speaker audio system. A matte paint option costs an extra 3,000 shekels. The Ora 5 comes with a six-year or 150,000-kilometer warranty, an eight-year or 150,000-kilometer battery warranty, and service intervals of one year or 15,000 kilometers, whichever comes first.
