Israel’s car market is preparing for several new models to arrive in the coming months, according to Transport Ministry registration records listing upcoming models for the country. Among them is the ORA 5 SUV, a hybrid from the established Chinese brand ORA, which has so far sold only electric models in Israel. ORA has shifted strategy in Europe toward hybrids like the 5, and the company says the SUV is 4.47 meters long, about the size of a Hyundai Tucson.
The ORA 5 uses a 1.5-liter gasoline engine as a generator for an electric motor that produces 190 horsepower. The importer registered it in multiple trim levels, with the lowest listed at about 160,000 shekels and the highest at about 170,000 shekels, though those prices could change when the model is officially launched.
Also listed is the ROX ADAMAS from Chinese automaker ROX MOTORS, one of the first representatives of a new generation of upscale Chinese SUVs. The company describes it as a “new luxury vehicle for hard terrain.” It measures 5.3 meters long and 1.98 meters wide.
The ADAMAS plug-in hybrid also uses a 1.5-liter gasoline engine, rated at 110 horsepower, as a generator for electric motors that deliver 476 horsepower. According to the manufacturer, it can drive through water up to 70 centimeters deep. Its expected price, 540,000 shekels, is among the highest ever charged in Israel for a Chinese vehicle.
