German Activists Block Hamburg Port Rails Over NATO Drill, Israel Arms Claims

Approximately 60 activists from the radical German left-wing movement "Ende Gelände" blocked railway lines leading to the Port of Hamburg on Tuesday. The protest targeted the NATO exercise "Red Storm Charlie." Some activists chained themselves to the tracks, waving a Palestinian flag, according to footage from the event.

The blockade halted at least 20 trains and prompted a significant police response. The group claimed that the port is used, among other things, for transferring weapons and military equipment to Israel.

The protest caused considerable disruption to port operations and led to a large police presence to clear the tracks and restore service.
