Arab Israeli Man Fatally Shot in Northern Israel; Cousin Murdered Last Year

A young Arab Israeli man, identified as 22-year-old Mohammed Samer Yassin from Tamra, was shot and killed Friday evening in the local council of Kabul in the Western Galilee. Yassin was transported to the Galilee Medical Center in Nahariya with a penetrating wound, where his death was pronounced. Police are investigating the incident as a criminal act.

This shooting follows the murder of Yassin's cousin, Jawad Yassin, in February of last year. The two incidents, occurring within a 1.5-year span, highlight a disturbing trend of violence within the Arab community in Israel.

Since the beginning of the year, 177 individuals have been murdered in the Arab community in Israel. The report of the shooting came in at 6:05 PM to MDA's emergency services. The circumstances surrounding Mohammed Samer Yassin's death are currently under investigation by the authorities.
