Rookie Sensation Cooper Flagg Grows Taller Ahead of NBA Season

Dallas Mavericks rising star Cooper Flagg, 19, has reportedly grown taller over the summer, exciting fans ahead of the 2026-27 NBA season. Flagg told reporters in Texas that he measured 2.08 meters (approximately 6 feet 10 inches) without shoes, up from 2.06 meters last season. He joked that with shoes, he might be closer to 2.11 meters. For comparison, Israeli player Deni Avdija stands at 2.03 meters.

New Mavericks coach Dusty May expressed his admiration for Flagg, calling him intelligent, hardworking, and a great teammate, predicting rapid progress and a future as one of the league's best players. Team president Masai Ujiri echoed this sentiment, calling Flagg a "once-in-a-generation talent."

Last season, Flagg was named Rookie of the Year, averaging an impressive 21.0 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game. He also delivered several standout performances, scoring 51, 49, 45, and 42 points in individual games.

Additionally, Kyrie Irving confirmed his full fitness for training camp, stating he will have no limitations. Irving described his recent injury as potentially beneficial, allowing him to experience being a player-coach, but he is now eager to return to the court and perform at a high level.
