Hapoel Be'er Sheva's Europa League Match Moved to Germany, Played Without Fans

Hapoel Be'er Sheva announced on Friday that their Europa League away match against Union Saint-Gilloise will be held in Dusseldorf, Germany, instead of Belgium, and will be played without spectators. The game is scheduled for October 22, 2026, as part of the third round of the Europa League.

Hapoel Be'er Sheva, the reigning Israeli champions, secured their first point in the opening round with a 0-0 draw against Dinamo Zagreb and are set to face AZ Alkmaar in the second round.

According to Hapoel Be'er Sheva's statement, Union Saint-Gilloise explained that their usual home stadium in Leuven was unavailable for hosting the match. They sought a nearby stadium to allow for fan attendance but ultimately stated that this was not possible due to security reasons. Hapoel Be'er Sheva expressed regret over the decision, noting that fans of both clubs would be unable to attend.

The club also informed its supporters that they are in constant contact with other clubs that will host them during the league stage and will provide updates on match locations as soon as final details are confirmed.
