Renowned Kabbalist Rabbi David Shalom Biton Dies at 85
Rabbi David Shalom Biton, head of the 'HaShalom' Kabbalistic yeshiva in Jerusalem, passed away on Thursday, the eve of the Sukkot holiday, at the age of 85. The news of his death was met with great sorrow among his students and the wider Torah community.
Rabbi Biton collapsed at his home in Bnei Brak on Thursday morning. Emergency medical services arrived and performed prolonged resuscitation efforts before he was evacuated in critical condition to Sheba Medical Center at Tel HaShomer. Despite the efforts of medical staff, his death was pronounced.
In recent years, Rabbi Biton had faced numerous health challenges and had been hospitalized multiple times. Nevertheless, he continued his dedicated Torah activities, focusing on teaching esoteric Jewish mysticism, receiving visitors seeking advice and blessings, and working for the benefit of the public and individuals through spiritual rectifications and miracles.
The funeral procession is scheduled for Friday afternoon at 2:00 PM, departing from the 'HaShalom' yeshiva in Jerusalem and proceeding to the Sanhedria Cemetery for burial. Thousands are expected to attend, including prominent yeshiva deans, kabbalists, rabbis, and Hasidic rebbes, who will come to pay their final respects.
