Napoli have sent a clear message to Israeli winger Anan Khalaily, telling him not to consider other offers as they push to sign him from Union Saint-Gilloise. According to a report in Corriere dello Sport, the Serie A runners-up have reached a basic understanding with the 20-year-old Israel national team player, and Khalaily has told the club, through the report, that he wants Napoli only.
Napoli sporting director Giovanni Manna has reportedly followed Khalaily for months and even spoke directly with the player’s family, his father Majdi and brother Iyad, while they were on vacation. He asked them to be patient and not rush into other decisions despite growing interest from Premier League clubs. The report said, “Khalaily wants only Napoli.”
Even so, the clubs remain far apart on a transfer fee. Napoli have already made an initial formal bid of 15 million euros, but Union Saint-Gilloise rejected it outright. In Belgium, Khalaily is valued at at least 25 million euros. Napoli are expected to return with an improved offer that will include a lower fixed fee plus substantial bonuses tied to team and individual achievements.
Maccabi Haifa is also watching the situation closely. The Israeli club sold Khalaily to Belgium for about 7.5 million euros and will receive 15% of any profit from a future sale. That sell-on clause is one reason Union Saint-Gilloise is holding firm on its price and refusing to compromise.
