Napoli is trying to move quickly to sign Israeli winger Anan Khalaili, but it has not yet reached a breakthrough with Union Saint-Gilloise, which is demanding 25 million euros for the player. The report was updated by transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, who said Napoli is working hard to close the deal as soon as possible.
Romano said Napoli’s preferred option at right-back is Khalaili, not Dodo, and that sporting director Giovanni Manna sees the 20-year-old as his first choice. According to Romano, Manna has followed Khalaili throughout last season and is convinced by his potential, making him the club’s top target for the position.
Romano added that Napoli believes Khalaili wants the move and views a transfer to Italy as a major opportunity for him. The club is still negotiating the final terms with Union Saint-Gilloise and is trying to find a solution quickly. If the transfer goes through, Khalaili is expected to earn 1.5 million euros per season.
Khalaili finished the season with five goals and six assists in all competitions. His highlights included a brace against Marseille and a winning goal against Atalanta in the Champions League.
