Maccabi Haifa is pushing to complete the signing of Huddersfield defender Radinio Balker, whose candidacy was first reported by Channel 5 Sport. Balker, a Suriname international with experience in the Dutch top flight, and his wife were in Israel last week and toured Kfar Giladi, Sammy Ofer Stadium and Haifa.
The club wants to bring him in as soon as possible so he can join training quickly. His transfer fee is estimated at about 300,000 euros, and he still has one year left on his contract.
Haifa is seeking a foreign center back after the departure of Abdoulaye Seck, who anchored the defense over the past four seasons.
