IDF Honors West Bank Security Department for Outstanding Service

The commander of the IDF's Judea and Samaria Division, Brigadier General Kobi Heller, presented a commendation to the security department and security center of the Samaria Regional Council. The award recognizes their professional, dedicated, and determined work for the security of residents in the region, and their close cooperation with the IDF and security forces.

Brigadier General Heller stated that the department's actions significantly contributed to defending residents and maintaining their daily lives. He specifically noted that during recent security incidents, the exceptional performance of the security center and the security coordinators led to better operational achievements and saved lives, making the events unfold differently and more positively than the army could have managed alone.

This is the second consecutive year the Samaria Regional Council's security department has received recognition from the IDF, having been honored by the Central Command the previous year. The award ceremony was attended by the head of the Samaria Regional Council, Yossi Dagan, the head of the security department, Yonatan Shacham, the head of the security center, Moti Zelvitch, and council security officers and monitors.

Dagan emphasized that the repeated commendation highlights the dedication of the council's security personnel, including coordinators, emergency response teams, and monitors, who work day and night. He stated that their efforts are the "protective wall of the settlement" and that security is the foundation for the expansion and flourishing of the Samaria region. He also thanked Brigadier General Heller and other commanders for their close partnership.
