IDF Honors West Bank Security Department for Outstanding Service

The Security Department and Security Operations Center of the Samaria Regional Council were awarded a commendation and excellence award by the Judea and Samaria Division of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). The award was presented by the Division Commander, Brigadier General Kobi Heller, at a ceremony attended by Council Head Yossi Dagan, Department Director Yonatan Simchi, Operations Center Director Moti Zelvitz, security coordinators, and operations center staff.

This recognition follows the Security Department's previous year's award as the best in Central Command. The commendation cited the department's professional, dedicated, and determined work for the security of residents in the area, stating its activities are a significant component in defending residents and maintaining their safety and daily routines, in close cooperation with the IDF and all security bodies.

Brigadier General Heller addressed the council head and department staff, calling the Samaria Regional Council's Security Department, which operates with the Menashe, Ephraim, Samaria, and Jordan Valley brigades, an outstanding unit. He highlighted their exceptional performance during recent events, noting that the operations center and security coordinators' actions led to better operational achievements, results, and life-saving outcomes than the army could have managed alone.

Heller also thanked Dagan and the council for their partnership and significant spirit, especially in the northern Samaria region, referencing the expansion, flourishing, and growth occurring there in the context of settlement. He expressed great appreciation for the security coordinators and female staff.

Dagan responded by stating that the security coordinators, emergency response teams, and all security personnel in Samaria form the defensive shield of the settlements. He emphasized their round-the-clock work, in routine and emergencies, and their role as first responders during difficult incidents. He noted that this is the second consecutive year the IDF has honored their Security Department, attesting to their professionalism and dedication.

Dagan concluded by thanking Brigadier General Heller and the brigade commanders for their close partnership, and also the Security Department director, security coordinators, and operations center staff. He affirmed that Samaria is expanding and flourishing, with security as the foundation for this growth, and pledged to continue strengthening security forces and settlement.
