Jerusalem Wins Top Match, Extends Perfect Start in Women's Soccer League

Hapoel Jerusalem secured a dramatic 4-2 victory over Maccabi Kiryat Gat in a highly anticipated clash, maintaining their perfect record in the Women's National League. The win, achieved in the first major game of the 2026-27 season, leaves Jerusalem as the league's sole undefeated team heading into the international break.

Kiryat Gat initially matched the reigning champions, with Dorin Shpigel canceling out Semayo Semih's opener in the first half. However, Jerusalem surged ahead in the second half. Caroline Cardoso scored in the 73rd minute to give Jerusalem the lead, but Kiryat Gat equalized from a penalty three minutes later. Cardoso then completed her brace in the 80th minute with a long-range free-kick, and substitute Doris Boaduwa sealed the win with a late goal following a defensive error.

Jerusalem now leads the league with nine points from three games, three points clear of Kiryat Gat. In other matches, Maccabi ASA Tel Aviv thrashed Bnot Netanya 7-0, Hapoel Ra'anana earned their first win of the season by defeating Hapoel Tel Aviv 2-1, and Maccabi Kesheronot Hadera beat Maccabi Holon 3-1.

Maya Cabrera scored twice for Hadera, continuing her strong start to the season, while Chilean national team forward Fernanda Araya also added a brace. For Tel Aviv, Eilat Cohen and Rubimo Tracy Elizabeth Mozara both scored twice in their dominant win over Netanya, who have struggled significantly this season.
