Cohen Scores Hat Trick as Hapoel Jerusalem Dominates Women's Soccer League

The second round of the Israeli Women's Premier League concluded Wednesday with four matches, leaving only two teams with perfect records: the reigning champion and its runner-up. Hapoel Katamon Jerusalem secured a decisive 4-1 victory over Hapoel Raanana, largely thanks to a rapid-fire hat trick from Smadar Cohen, who scored three goals in just 13 minutes. This win keeps Hapoel Jerusalem, last season's top scorer, at the top of the table with six points from six.

Kiryat Gat also maintained its perfect start, defeating Bnot Netanya 5-0. Kiryat Gat's goals came from Daniela Halala, Aldrit Ivana Cointreau, Alice Blochhin (twice), and Yuval Ezer. The newly promoted Bnot Netanya remains without points after two matches.

In other games, Maccabi ASA Tel Aviv earned their first win of the season, coming from behind to beat Maccabi Kishronot Hadera 2-1. Maccabi Holon secured a dramatic 2-1 win over Hapoel Tel Aviv, with the winning goal scored in the 98th minute by Immkulate Masepha after a rebound off the opposing goalkeeper.

Hapoel Raanana, despite a strong start to the second half against Jerusalem, conceded three goals to Cohen after equalizing. Raanana now has two losses, while Jerusalem continues its dominant performance. Bnot Netanya, after a narrow loss in the first round, suffered a significant defeat, highlighting their struggles as a new entrant to the league.
