Jerusalem's Katamon and Kiryat Gat Reach Women's Cup Final
Hapoel Katamon Jerusalem and M.S. Kiryat Gat will face each other in the final of the Athena Cup after winning their respective semi-final matches on Thursday. The final will take place just a week before the start of the 2026/27 women's Premier League season.
Hapoel Katamon Jerusalem secured their spot in the final with a dominant 4-0 victory over Maccabi ASA Tel Aviv. Smadar Cohen scored twice in the second half, in the 58th and 63rd minutes, while Carol Cardozo (69') and Rachel Steinshneider (89') added further goals.
M.S. Kiryat Gat also delivered a commanding performance, defeating Maccabi Talent Hadera 6-0. Orr Dibon opened the scoring in the 14th minute and doubled the lead in the 36th. Marian Awad added a third goal just before halftime, and Dibon completed her hat-trick, with Daniela Halana and Alice Baluchin also finding the net.
In the 5th-6th place playoff, Hapoel Tel Aviv came from behind to beat Maccabi Holon 3-1. Shaked Horwitz scored first for Holon in the fifth minute, but Orin Biro equalized two minutes later. Hodaya Biton and Eden Avital then completed the comeback for Hapoel Tel Aviv.
The 7th-8th place playoff saw Ella Fabian score the game's only goal in the third minute, giving Hapoel Ra'anana a 1-0 victory over Bnot Netanya.
