Hapoel Katamon Jerusalem learned on Thursday evening who it will face in the first two rounds of the Champions League qualifiers, which begin on July 22 and July 25. The Israeli club from the capital was drawn into the first qualifying round, while some teams will only enter in the second round.
The qualifying format is a mini knockout tournament. A third qualifying round will follow, and the winners there will advance to the group stage.
Hapoel Katamon Jerusalem will meet PAOK Thessaloniki in the opening round. If it wins, it will face the winner of the tie between Neftchi Baku and Buducnost. Should it keep advancing, its next opponent in the following stage would be Ferencvaros in the second semifinal of that qualifying round.
