Hapoel Katamon Jerusalem learned on Thursday evening who it will face in the first two rounds of Champions League qualifying, which begin on July 22 and July 25. The Jerusalem club enters in the first qualifying round, while some other teams will join only in the second round.
The format is a mini knockout tournament. There is also a third qualifying round, and the winners there advance to the group stage.
Katamon’s first opponent will be PAOK Thessaloniki. If it wins that tie, it will meet the winner of the matchup between Neftchi Baku and Budućnost. Should it advance again, it would then face Ferencváros in the second semifinal of the next qualifying stage.
