Hapoel Katamon Jerusalem and Kiryat Gat Reach Athena Cup Final
Hapoel Katamon Jerusalem and Maccabi Kiryat Gat will face each other in the final of the Athena Cup after winning their respective semi-final matches on Thursday. The final is scheduled to take place just one week before the start of the 2026/27 Women's Premier League season.
Hapoel Katamon Jerusalem secured their spot in the final with a decisive 4-0 victory over Maccabi ASA Tel Aviv. Smadar Cohen scored twice in the second half, in the 58th and 63rd minutes, while Carol Cardozo added a third in the 69th minute. Rachel Steinshneider completed the scoring in the 89th minute.
Maccabi Kiryat Gat dominated their semi-final, defeating Maccabi Talent Hadera 6-0. Orr Dibon scored a hat-trick, opening the scoring in the 14th minute and adding two more goals later in the match. Marian Awad scored before halftime, and Daniela Halala and Alice Blukhin sealed the comprehensive win.
In the ranking matches, Hapoel Tel Aviv defeated Maccabi Holon 3-1 to determine the 5th and 6th places. Shaked Horwitz scored early for Hapoel Tel Aviv, but Orin Biro equalized shortly after. Hodaya Biton and Eden Avital then scored to complete the comeback for Hapoel Tel Aviv.
In the match for 7th and 8th place, Bnot Netanya narrowly beat Hapoel Ra'anana 1-0, with Ella Fabian scoring the game's only goal in the third minute.
