Melisron Seeks New CEO as Ofir Sarid Departs Due to Health Reasons
Ofir Sarid has officially concluded his term as CEO of Melisron, a leading Israeli real estate company, due to health circumstances. Sarid had been on medical leave since the beginning of the month. Melisron announced on Thursday that given these health issues, he would be stepping down permanently.
The company is now actively searching for a permanent CEO. Oren Hellinger, who has been serving as interim CEO since Sarid's medical leave began, will continue in the role alongside his position as CFO of the real estate firm, which is controlled by Liora Ofer. Hellinger will maintain both responsibilities until a permanent CEO is appointed.
Sarid, 55, was appointed CEO of Melisron in 2019. Prior to that, he served as the company's CFO. He took over the CEO position following the departure of Avi Levi, the previous CEO, who is now the controlling shareholder of Lahav.
Melisron is valued at NIS 19 billion and operates 18 malls under the "Ofer Malls" brand. It ranks among the top three largest mall groups in Israel, trailing Azrieli Group (valued at NIS 49 billion) and ahead of Big Group (valued at NIS 17 billion).
