Pou'ah College Trains Educators on Navigating Modern Privacy Challenges

Pou'ah College is offering training for parents and educators to foster sensitive discussions about privacy, boundaries, relationships, and intimacy for the younger generation. In an era where the lines between personal and public life are increasingly blurred, children and teens are exposed to mature content before they can fully process it. The college emphasizes the need to teach young people about boundaries, privacy, and intimacy, a challenge that also extends to adults.

The training aims to equip parents and educators with the skills to engage in meaningful dialogue, listen effectively, and provide age-appropriate, professional guidance. Hodaya Saluk, a graduate of Pou'ah College's courses on bride instruction and healthy sexuality, shared that the program provided her with a healthy and joyful perspective on sexuality, enhancing her approach to education, relationships, and intimacy.

Pou'ah College also extends its training to pre-marital preparation, recognizing that modern couples need more than just religious instruction. Rabbi Binyamin David, a counselor and lecturer at the college, explained that the curriculum has evolved from focusing solely on Halakha (Jewish law) to incorporating essential topics like worldview, faith, relationships, and medical aspects. The college advocates for open dialogue between family members and mentors to build trust and understanding.

The college's courses, including bride and groom instruction, healthy sexuality, and marital life guidance, integrate religious law with medical knowledge and practical skills. Rabbi Shaps, a lecturer, highlighted that the goal is to empower individuals with the knowledge and tools to foster purity and healthy relationships within families, emphasizing the importance of discussing concepts like boundaries, privacy, and sanctity in a practical manner.
