U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee spoke at a JNS conference and addressed tensions between Israel and the United States. In a light comment before his appearance, he said he had to make sure he had not been fired yet, a remark tied to his support for Israel’s operations in Lebanon.
Huckabee used the event to deliver a sharp warning about Iran and the regime in Tehran, saying it cannot be trusted in any way. He argued that Iran sees harming Israel only as a first step toward destroying the United States.
"The Iranians want to kill every American, down to the last one," he said. Huckabee also said he believes the American public does not sufficiently understand the danger from Iran or the scale of the threat it poses to the U.S.
He concluded that Iran has always been an existential threat and should be treated with maximum seriousness.
