US Ambassador Mike Huckabee: America Protects Its Own Interests, Not Israel

The United States has never provided direct military protection to Israel since its establishment in 1948, and all American actions against Iran are solely aimed at ensuring America's own security, according to U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee. In a recent interview discussing regional strategy, Huckabee clarified that when the U.S. collaborates or takes steps against the Iranian threat, it is not in direct defense of the Israeli state. "When we are partners in countering Iran, we are not protecting Israel, we are protecting the United States," he stated. The ambassador emphasized that Washington views regional risks through the lens of its own long-term interests, citing the persistent threat from Tehran. He further noted that decisions made in Washington are based on national security priorities. While acknowledging the strong partnership and close cooperation between the U.S. and Israel on key issues, Huckabee reiterated that the fundamental basis of American foreign policy remains the interests of the United States itself.
