US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee said on Sunday that Washington will not let Iran set the terms for the United States, adding that President Donald Trump has made his position clear: "Trump made it very clear what he will do." His remarks came in a public show of support for Israel and amid tensions involving Tehran.
Huckabee also addressed the relationship between Trump and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, saying no world leader speaks with the president more often. He described their ties as deeply personal, not just diplomatic, and said they are marked by unusual candor and directness. "The president says things to people, and he says things to the world, but the only thing I have always heard him say, and always seen him do, is that America has an inseparable bond with the State of Israel," Huckabee said, adding, "I believe he means what he says."
He closed with a religious message about Israel’s future, arguing that confidence in the country’s survival does not rest only on military strength. "My confidence in Israel's ability to continue existing and remain here does not come from the fact that we have a strong army, or that Israel has a strong army," he said. "It comes from the fact that we all have a great God who promised a promise, and He will keep His promise."
