13-Year-Old Boy Dies After Being Hit by Car in Northern Israel

A 13-year-old boy, Ariel Sofer from Kiryat Ata, died from his injuries on Thursday night after being struck by a vehicle the previous evening. The incident occurred at the Tze'bar junction near Kiryat Bialik. Emergency medical services who arrived at the scene attempted resuscitation and transported him to Rambam Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead. Initial investigations suggest Ariel was playing with friends when he unexpectedly entered the road and was hit by a passing car. The driver sustained minor injuries and was also taken for medical treatment. The mayor of Kiryat Ata, Yaakov Peretz, expressed deep sorrow over the "immense pain" of the "tragic and difficult event," stating that the municipality is providing psychological and educational support to the boy's family and classmates. This incident follows two other fatal road accidents in Israel on Tuesday: a 30-year-old electric bicycle rider was killed by a truck near Zichron Yaakov on Highway 4, and a 60-year-old motorcyclist died in a collision with a truck near the settlement of Nokdim in the Judean Hills on Highway 398.
