13-Year-Old Boy Dies After Being Hit by Car in Northern Israel

A 13-year-old boy, Ariel Sofir Mehrazi from Kiryat Ata, has died from injuries sustained after being struck by a vehicle in Kiryat Bialik. Emergency medical services were called to the scene and found the boy unconscious, initiating advanced resuscitation efforts including defibrillation and ventilation. He was transported by intensive care ambulance to Rambam Health Care Campus in Haifa, where doctors pronounced him dead due to severe multi-system trauma.

According to his mother, Chofit, Ariel was reportedly startled by an older teenager, approximately 17 years old, and ran into the road to escape. His mother described Ariel as a smiling child who loved life, possessed a great sense of humor, and was well-loved by his friends. She received the news of the accident from one of Ariel's close friends.

In the wake of the tragedy, Ariel's mother appealed to other teenagers to stop bullying each other, expressing hope that they would learn from this incident. The mayor of Kiryat Ata, Yaakov Peretz, extended condolences to Ariel's mother, who works in the education system, and the entire family, emphasizing that the municipality and its psychological and educational teams are providing support to the family and Ariel's classmates.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, and the boy was pronounced dead at the hospital. The municipality of Kiryat Ata has pledged full support to the grieving family and students.
