Iran's Foreign Minister Urges Germany to Halt Support for US and Israel

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi called on Germany to cease its support for the United States and Israel during a meeting with his German counterpart, Johann Wadephul, on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly. The meeting, reported by Iran's state news agency IRNA, focused on bilateral relations, regional and international issues, and Tehran's engagement with European nations.

Araghchi criticized European countries, including Germany, accusing Berlin of enabling violations of international law and aggressive actions by Washington. He asserted that Germany's military and political backing for Israel directly contributes to ongoing hostilities in the region and urged Germany to end this "complicity." The Iranian minister also stressed the need to hold accountable all parties responsible for escalating the conflict.

The discussions took place amidst significant disagreements between Iran and Western countries concerning regional security and Iran's nuclear program. As of the report, Berlin had not issued an official statement regarding the meeting in New York.
