Chefs Rank Children's Meals: McDonald's Wins in Blind Taste Test

Two Israeli chefs, Shahar Levi and Avi Conforti, along with Tal Shapirer, conducted a blind taste test of children's meals from McDonald's, Burger Ranch, and Burger King. Overall, the chefs expressed disappointment with all the offerings, with Conforti stating there was no discernible difference and that none of the meals met his standards.

The first burger tasted was from Burger King's children's meal. Chef Conforti criticized the flavor, noting it tasted more of ketchup, pickles, and bun yeast than quality grilled meat. The second meal, from McDonald's, was deemed slightly better. Conforti observed the patty was less gray and the bun softer and tastier.

The final meal tested was from Burger Ranch. The chefs found its bun dry. Conforti commented that while children might like it, it was not a "happy meal" and lacked nutritional balance. Chef Levi acknowledged that some children might prefer it despite its nutritional shortcomings.

In the final ranking, Chef Conforti maintained that all three meals were unacceptable and indistinguishable. However, Chef Levi ranked McDonald's first, Burger King second, and Burger Ranch third, indicating a preference for McDonald's offering.
