McDonald's Israel Revives Birthday Parties for Nostalgic Parents
McDonald's Israel is bringing back a beloved childhood experience by reopening its branches for birthday celebrations, a move expected to delight parents and those nostalgic for the 1990s and early 2000s. This initiative offers a simpler and more affordable alternative to the elaborate and costly parties common today.
The new service, bookable via the company's website, includes a reserved space decorated with branded balloons, banners, custom placemats, and other surprises. The cost for reserving the space and decorations is 200 Israeli shekels, excluding branches in Eilat, Ben Gurion Airport, Ein Yahav, and Ovot. Children's meals for the event are ordered separately at the standard menu price.
McDonald's is offering flexibility, allowing parents to upgrade the celebration package, bring external entertainers, and even bring their own birthday cake, provided prior arrangements are made with the specific branch. Each birthday child will receive a commemorative certificate at the end of the party.
Karin Kataner, McDonald's Israel's VP of Marketing, stated that the service addresses a growing need for convenient and accessible event solutions for families. She added that the birthday package provides a holistic solution that saves parents time and effort, allowing them to focus on celebrating with their children without compromising on convenience or quality.
In related news, McDonald's is also preparing to launch a new menu item, a vanilla-matcha frothy drink described as a "summer drink." This beverage will initially be available in the UK and Ireland, with plans for a global rollout later. A medium-sized drink is expected to cost approximately $4.70 (around 13 shekels).
