Palestinian Terrorist Claims Financial Woes Drove Him to Murder Israeli

Three days after the fatal shooting attack in the Benjamin region that killed Natanel Shicron, details have emerged from the terrorist's interrogation. The assailant confessed that severe financial debts, amounting to hundreds of thousands of shekels, led him to plan the attack. He stated that he had initially considered suicide but decided against it, believing it would not resolve his debts or grant him passage to paradise. Consequently, he resolved to carry out a terrorist attack and murder Jews.

The terrorist described his movements on the day of the attack, explaining that he drove with his weapon loaded. He initially spotted Israeli vehicles in the Rawabi area but was too afraid to act. On the day of the attack, after dropping his children at kindergarten and his wife at work, he took his loaded weapon and drove to the location.

Natanel (Nati) Shicron, a father of six and a high-tech worker, was murdered on the eve of Yom Kippur while visiting a spring in Benjamin with his eldest son, Yoav. The terrorist opened fire on their vehicle; Yoav was unharmed. An Israel Defense Forces soldier at the scene returned fire, and the terrorist fled.

The assailant was apprehended approximately three hours later in a hospital in Ramallah, where he had taken himself after sustaining injuries during the attack. Shicron was laid to rest in the Ali Ze'ev cemetery, with his wife and son Yoav among those who eulogized him.
