Haifa Airport Holds Emergency Preparedness Drill
The fire and rescue station in the Krayot conducted a nighttime drill at Haifa Airport on Tuesday evening to test the readiness and coordination of firefighting crews and other agencies during emergencies. According to Kaid Zahar, the official spokesperson for the Fire and Rescue Authority in Arabic media, the exercise simulated a fire breaking out on the second floor of the passenger terminal, with suspicions of people trapped inside.
Two teams from the Airports Authority's fire station participated initially, commencing firefighting operations until the arrival of crews from the nearby Krayot station. The Krayot crews then assessed the situation, carried out firefighting, rescued the trapped individuals, and ventilated the building. The commander of the second shift oversaw the exercise until all stages were successfully completed.
The Fire and Rescue Authority conducts dozens of such drills annually across Israel to ensure readiness, particularly given the current circumstances.
