Top Rabbi Meir Tzvi Bergman Prays at Mount Meron
Rabbi Meir Tzvi Bergman, a prominent Lithuanian-Haredi rabbi and Rosh Yeshiva (head of a yeshiva), visited the holy site of Mount Meron for the first time on Tuesday, the 13th of Elul, during the Ten Days of Repentance. He traveled to the tomb of Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai to offer prayers and supplications.
Rabbi Bergman used a sprinter van that previously belonged to Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky, a revered Torah leader who passed away, and is now used by Rabbi Meir Sternbuch, a leading halachic authority. Rabbi Bergman arrived at the tomb in the afternoon.
During his prayers, Rabbi Bergman prayed for those who support his yeshiva and the historic fundraising campaign "Mesarti Nafshi" (I Gave My Soul). He also recited "Mi Sheberach" blessings for the recovery of Rabbi Yisrael Hager, the Rebbe of Vizhnitz, and Rabbi Yissachar Dov Rokach, the Rebbe of Belz, both prominent Hasidic leaders.
A group of Rabbi Bergman's close students accompanied him on this prayer pilgrimage.
